About the Artist:
Ida Foreman began her art training, even before birth! Her mother, Alice Foreman, took her first art lessons; in Sendai, Japan; while pregnant with her
youngest, Ida. While a young child in France, Ida continued to study with her mother's art instructors. When her family returned to the American Southwest,
the frequent visits to her pioneer Grandmothers fostered a lifelong love for the landscapes of the American Deserts.
She attended the California Institute of the Arts. After leaving the institution, she married fellow "Cal Arts" grad, David Fick. Together they
established IDAVID GraFicks, a Fine-Art Screen Printing Studio.
The move from a downtown L.A. studio to the beauty of the vicinity of Joshua Tree National Park has opened up opportunities for teaching. She is currently
teaching Art, for College of the Desert, Palm Desert and Copper Mountain College, Joshua Tree.
